SCIENCE WEEK 2018

For small children, science is fun and curiosity. It’s a process of investigating and provoking thoughts, questioning
and looking for the answers. Therefore, some of very simple but thought stimulating activities were planned by the teachers of Candyyfloss in order to celebrate Science Week from 23rd to 28th July’18.

Day 1- Oil & Water experiment- Through a very fun and interesting experiment children were shown and explained about the difference in density of water & Oil. They were explained why the water remains separated from oil even when mixed together. Kids were amazed to see small and colorful water droplets inside the oil.
Day 2 - Bottle Green House- Children were shown how to grow plants. They entirely enjoyed the whole
process; from sowing the seeds, watering them on regular basis and then finally the plants germinating out to become a healthy plant.
Day 3 Making a Magnet Painting- Children were taught how easy and interesting it is to make painting
or any design with the help of magnets and some of very common magnetic materials such as Paper
Pins, Unused nuts & bolts etc. It was a fun activity for children and they loved to discover about the
magnetic properties.
Day 4 Play the Senses Guessing Game- This was a very interesting game especially designed to stimulate all the 5 senses of small children. In this game kids were blindfolded and were asked to guess the objects they were touching, smelling, feeling, hearing and tasting. They were very happy playing this new game in which they got to have a better understanding about the usage of their 5 senses.
Day 5 Exploring Foam Clouds- Children were given an opportunity to experience & understand the
phenomenon of rain coming from the clouds with the help of shaving foam and colourful water. Children
completely enjoyed & were very happy during this experiment.

SKILL INDIA 2018

Candyyfloss planned some of very interesting activities for the “Skill India Week” which was celebrated with great enthusiasm from 16th to 20th July’18.
These activities were:
a. Wall hangings made out of Jute.
b. Tin Can Lanterns.
c. Kites made from paper bags.
d. Cement Garden.
e. Hangings of Warli Art.
The above described activities have provided the young minds a first hand experience of creating something unique out of the simple things used in our daily life.
