15.GANIT WEEK
DAY 1 (CIRCLE HUNT)
To help the students to overcome the fear of mathematics by learning the
subject in a fun manner through Ganit Week. A series of activities has been
planned for the students of Candyyfloss and the main fundamental topic chosen
for the same is ' GEOMETRICAL SHAPES' as shape is the first very noticeable
attributes of the world around us.
When a child explores different shapes, he/she is using one of the most basic
educational processes. So, today the Candyyfloss
children were amused by the circle hunt activity in which they searched the cut
outs of circles of different size & colour.
DAY 2 ( TRIANGLE FUN
WORKSHEET)
Learning simple shapes were fun coloring in the outdoor scene which had a lot
of shapes. Candyyfloss kids flex their triangle knowledge as they colored
triangles in the scene. We Introduced our young student to shapes and beginning
geometry concepts with this fun worksheet.
DAY 3 ( LET'S PLAY,TURN & TWIST - HEART SHAPE
WITH ORIGAMI)
Origami is a fantastic way to develop child's fine motor skills.Transforming a
piece of plain paper into something else is an experience children truly
appreciate. And the best of all, they will remember the joy of folding origami
as a kid.. I KNOW I DO! Candyyfloss kids learnt this paper heart simple origami
trick under the assistance of their teachers.
DAY 4( LET'S CREATE A XYLOPHONE)
Basic Skills Learning Activities discussed during Xylophone craft activity were
Rectangle Shape, Colors, Letter X and Counting. For this activity we focused on
the rectangle shape of each color bar. Discussed that the color panels are
rectangles (two long sides and two short sides). Asked the children to find
other things around them that are rectangles - a door, window, table etc.
Today's activity was based on a fundamental craft skill through which our tiny
tots got a great sense of accomplishment and pride by creating Xylophone using
different coloured rectangular cutouts and ice cream sticks.
What a powerful learning tool!
DAY 5( MAKE A SHAPE COLLAGE)
Planning
a shape collage activity gets our kindergartners' fingers working while
acquiring valuable knowledge and skills. Shapes and colors are a way for
children to observe, identify and categorize the world around them. One of the
best ways for them to learn to identify shapes is to play and create with them.
Geometric
shape collage is a wonderful activity for young children. In real world, the child
comes across the collages of different coloured shapes like a triangular
sandwich served in a circular plate kept on a rectangular based dining table.
Similarly, today our young students formed bright and beautiful one dimensional
collages of Pre cut shapes under the guidance of their class teachers.
